Charity Week 2024

Taking place from October 21 - 27, 2024

What is Charity Week?

Over the past 20 years, communities & campuses have been coming together from across the world, promoting the vision of unity and undertaking a week of united fundraising for orphans and children in need.

But why do we believe so deeply about united action and belief?

Because the range of problems and difficulties faced by our communities across the world are so many, so varied, so complex – that the only way we stand a chance of overcoming them is if we work together.

So we are calling on everyone, young or old, to get involved and help support the cause!

Become a Changemaker today.

2024 theme for Charity Week

This year, Charity Week has chosen Social Justice (Adl) as our theme, a call to action for each of us to stand against oppression and inequality.

In a world where injustice is far too common, we are uniting to create lasting change for those most in need. Through our collective efforts, we aim to not only raise funds, but to amplify the voices of the oppressed and strive for a future where justice is a reality for all.

Together, we can be the change that restores balance and hope to the orphans and children in need around the world.

We are confident that #CW2024 is going to be the BIGGEST ONE YET! We wish you the very best with your efforts to bring more unity to our communities and the blessings that come!

Join us in this movement for change

Charity Week is the time for the bakers, the bucketeers, and the Changemakers to come together in their local communities to make a global impact in the lives of thousands of children.

History of Charity Week / Brand Building

Charity Week is a 100% volunteer-led campaign of Islamic Relief.

The project started with a vision in the year 2000 – a vision that the problems of the world could be solved through unity. A vision that emphasized that we are stronger together rather than apart, and that real change begins when we change ourselves.

After years of preparation, the first trial run took place using a shoebox and a handwritten poster at the St George’s Medical School in South London. In the years to come, Charity Week expanded all across the UK, Canada, Qatar, Germany, USA, South Africa, Ireland and Malaysia!

The real success, however, is not the money, but the unity that is born through this collective effort – regardless of age, position, class or religion.

It is this unity that we hope will provide a lasting solution to the suffering of the children of the world, and provide the spark for further like-minded campaigns.
