About Our Speakers

Ahmed Hijazi

Ahmed Hijazi is a Palestinian content creator from Gaza, documenting his day-to-day life under siege. As a dedicated activist and advocate for Palestinian rights, Ahmed focuses on raising awareness of the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Through his content, he highlights the harsh realities of life under siege and emphasizes the importance of global solidarity.  

Dr. Farah El-Sharif

Dr. Farah El-Sharif is a dedicated scholar and advocate for Palestinian heritage. With expertise in Islamic studies and preserving Palestinian tradition, she aims to elevate the stories and experiences of Palestinians. Dr. Farah continues to inspire others to connect with and support the Palestinian struggle for justice and cultural preservation.

Dr. Ben Thomson

Dr. Ben Thomson is a doctor of internal medicine and a dedicated kidney specialist. He has provided on-the-ground medical work and educational support in the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip since 2013. Dr. Ben Thomson has played a crucial role in developing medical education programs in Gaza and fostering knowledge and hope amid adversity.

Dr. Yipeng Ge

Dr. Yipeng Ge is a physician based in Ottawa and a committed activist who courageously tackles global injustices, with a particular focus on the situation in Gaza. Having witnessed the atrocities in Gaza firsthand, Dr. Ge leverages his direct experiences to raise awareness and educate the Canadian public. His dedication to advocacy and his stance on justice play a crucial role in informing and inspiring action on these critical issues.

Dorotea Gucciardo

Dorotea Gucciardo is the Director of Development at Glia, an international organization focusing on health equality and medical intervention in Gaza. Dorotea has recently come back from a humanitarian mission that took place in Gaza.

Ahmed Kouta

Ahmed Kouta a registered nurse based in London, Ontario and is a dedicated activist and community leader committed to advocating for social justice and human rights. With a passion for empowering marginalized communities, Ahmed works to raise awareness for the people of Gaza and amplify their voices and needs to the rest of the world.  

Dr. Tarek Loubani

Dr. Tarek Loubani is a Canadian emergency physician and humanitarian recognized for his work in conflict zones like Gaza. He has developed low-cost medical innovations, such as 3D-printed supplies, to promote global health equity. His commitment to providing care in difficult settings has established him as a key figure in the medical and activist communities, inspiring support for health and human rights worldwide.
