Scaling New Heights for Sudan
By participating in the Machu Picchu Challenge, you're not just pushing your physical limits—you’re standing in solidarity with the people of Sudan.
The ongoing conflict in Sudan has led to a dire humanitarian crisis. Over 9 million people have been displaced, and more than 24 million are in need of urgent assistance. The violence has resulted in over 13,000 civilian deaths and thousands more injured. Healthcare facilities are overwhelmed, with 70% of them shut down since the conflict began. Additionally, over 18 million Sudanese face acute hunger, including 3.6 million children suffering from malnutrition.
Islamic Relief has been on the ground in Sudan since 1991, providing emergency aid and long-term development. Our teams are delivering vital medical supplies, fuel, and food to hospitals, as well as food, water, cash assistance, and psychosocial support to affected communities. We are actively operating in areas including Khartoum, Blue Nile, North Kordofan, West Kordofan, Central Darfur, Gedaref, Sennar, Al Jazirah, and Port Sudan. By joining this challenge, you’re helping to provide urgent relief to those who need it most. Every step you take through the Andes will help deliver life-saving aid to Sudan.
