When an emergency strikes, Islamic Relief aims to be the first on the ground , providing emergency relief and helping those affected immediately . When floods, droughts or earthquakes happen, we’re there: providing life-saving food, water, shelter, medicine and other essential items to families who have lost everything.

At Islamic Relief, we not only  save lives, we rebuild them  – we stick around even after the situation has calmed, helping families put their homes back together. And we don’t stop there. 

Where people are affected by the same disasters over and over, we think about how to prepare these people before an emergency strikes. We  respond, repair and build resilience.

Here at Islamic Relief, we’re saving lives in over 40 countries across the globe. In conflict zones such as Syria and Yemen, we’re on the ground reaching places where many other organizations cannot. 

Since the outbreak of conflict in Syria , the global Islamic Relief family has delivered over $490 million of aid to support communities in need, as well as serving refugee populations in neighbouring countries such as Lebanon and Jordan. In the Aleppo and Idleb Governorates, internally displaced camps and host communities are receiving water pumps, sewage networks, solid waste bins, and hygiene kits to meet their water, sanitation, and hygiene needs. 

In Yemen  , where conflict continues to destroy an already struggling nation, we’re on the ground in 19 of the country’s 22 governorates,  providing essential food aid  to families at risk of famine and facing extensive food insecurity. 30 kg food packs contain dates, lentils, rice, sugar, oil, wheat, canned meat, and fish. 

Our emergency relief fund helps communities in flooded countries like Bangladesh and Pakistan to recover from and become resilient against disaster. Communities receive cash grants and shelter repair kits to enable them to reconstruct damaged homes. We’re also raising houses on plinths so the water doesn’t reach homes and destroy them, protecting communities for years to come.

In drought-stricken countries like  Kenya  ,  we’re building long-lasting wells, providing water storage tanks, and planting crops  which can survive in dry weather, so families can access safe, potable water and food amidst extreme weather conditions.
