A Story of Hope: Fadi’s Father in Syria

“The shift from our old tattered tent to a house with a stable roof over our heads has brought so much comfort, security, and joy to us!

This is not just a simple house but rather a place that carries within its walls our beautiful memories and our aspirations for a better future.”

At 52 years old, Fadi’s father has experienced unimaginable loss and pain. The Syrian civil war displaced his family from their home in northern Hama and resulted in the loss of 2 sons. After a years-long journey of displacement, his family finally settled in Salqin, a town in northern Syria near the Turkish border, to call their new home.

In February, the earthquakes that struck Turkiye and northern Syria destroyed this new home.

Through Islamic Relief’s shelter project in response to the earthquake, Fadi’s family were provided with a housing unit to entirely call their own! With complete ownership over their new home, his family has full access to three rooms, a kitchen, and bathroom.

For families in search of safety and shelter like Fadi’s, your support acts like the comfort and warm embrace of home.
