Welcome to the Islamic Relief Canada (IRC) family. At IRC we are dedicated to helping the impoverished access basic services and provide vital emergency aid when disasters occur. IRC envisages a caring world where communities are empowered, social obligations are fulfilled and people respond as one to the suffering of others. By signing up to represent Islamic Relief this Ramadan, you have become a part of this vision. At IRC, we are guided by the timeless values of the Qur’an and Prophetic tradition and as an ambassador of IRC, we share these values with you. The objective of this waiver is to outline the obligations and expectations of the host to ensure a successful campaign.
II. Code of Conduct
Islamic Relief Canada (IRC) expects its employees to adhere to a standard of professional conduct and integrity, which is also deeply rooted within our core values (sincerity – ikhlas, mercy – rahma, excellence – ihsan, social justice – adl and custodianship – amana). This ensures a work environment that is safe, comfortable and productive. Employees should be respectful, courteous, and mindful of others’ feelings and needs. General cooperation between coworkers and supervisors is expected. As an ambassador of IRC this Ramadan, you will be expected to adhere to the same standards specified in Islamic Relief Canada’s Code of Conduct document. IRC expects all hosts to embody and represent the organization in a respectful and appropriate manner.
III. Host Responsibilities
As the host of an iftaar, you will have the following responsibilities:
- Collecting and securing all cash, cheques and pledge cards donated and/or completed at the iftaar
- Mailing and/or handing off all collected donations to Islamic Relief Canada or an IRC representative present at the iftaar
- All donations being mailed to IRC should be sent within 3 three days after the iftaar
- Tracking all materials and donations to ensure completeness of information ( as specified in the instructions provided)
Any promises made to donors should be aligned with IRC’s existing policies and procedures.
These promises may fall within the following topics (among others):
- Tax Receipts
- Administration Fee
- Donation processing
- Fund allocation

As a host and ambassador of IRC, you are required to read and understand all documents and materials provided. The hosts are expected to follow the guidelines provided by IRC with regards to collecting and tracking donations, answering donor questions and representing the organization.
