* Please note that our orphan matching process will take an average of 1-2 weeks. However, due to the ongoing emergency crisis, the situation could suddenly change and this process may take longer than the average processing time.
When Will My Sponsored Orphan Receive My Donation?
Our 1-1 donor and orphan matching process for Gaza usually takes 1-2 weeks after you start your donation. As soon as you are matched with your sponsored orphan, your monthly donation is then regularly transferred to them on a quarterly basis.
Your donations remain in trusted hands and are reaching the people of Gaza. If the matching process time changes due to the nature of the crisis, we will advise and update you accordingly.
Our staff, volunteers and partner organizations are focused on both providing emergency aid as well as ensuring care for the orphans and families of Gaza. We are working tirelessly to ensure that we continue reaching our sponsored orphans as well as register more orphans in our system as quickly and safely as possible.
How Can I Stay in Touch with My Sponsored Orphan?
When you start your sponsorship, you will initially receive a biodata report that includes a photograph and detailed information about your sponsored orphan. Typically, numerous avenues are available for you to connect with your sponsored orphan/s. However, due to the ongoing emergency, several of these communication channels are currently on hold. If you wish to extend your additional support, you can:
Send a gift to your sponsored orphan
If you wish to give an extra monetary gift to your sponsored orphan, you can visit islamicrelief.ca/orphangifts online. 100% of your gift goes directly towards the orphan and his/her family with no overhead costs.
Kindly include the orphan ID if you are sponsoring more than one orphan to ensure we send the gift to the correct orphan. Gift donations are transferred on a quarterly basis.
Islamic Relief’s long-standing Orphan Sponsorship Program in Palestine
We have been supporting orphans in Gaza, Palestine, for years now. At the moment, Islamic Relief Worldwide is sponsoring over 13,220 orphans in Gaza, and over one-third of these orphans are sponsored by Canadian donors. This work is done in partnership with a number of local organizations on the ground that are well-experienced in the safeguarding of children and ensuring they receive the best chance at a bright future.
