JOB OPENING:

Social Media Coordinator

This position is responsible for creating and maintaining a strong online presence for Islamic Relief Canada. They would be asked to implement online marketing strategies through social media accounts.

In collaboration with the Marketing team at IRC, the social media coordinator will develop content and suggest creative ways to attract more donors and promote IRC’s brand online.

Status: Full-time, 3 Month Contract

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Research audience preferences and discover current trends
  • Work with the Content Developer to create/use engaging text, image and video content
  • Design posts to sustain readers’ curiosity and create buzz around events, campaigns and other initiatives
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in all social platforms ensuring maximum effectiveness
  • Train co-workers to use social media in a cohesive and beneficial way
  • Facilitate online conversations with donors and other followers
  • Implement the social media posting schedule as developed by the Marketing Manager, considering web traffic and engagement metrics
  • Suggest new ways to attract prospective social media following

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, New media or relevant field
  • Proven work experience as a Social Media Coordinator
  • Expertise in multiple social media platforms
  • Knowledge of SEO, keyword research and Google Analytics
  • Ability to deliver creative content (text, image and video)
  • Familiarity with online marketing strategies and marketing channels
  • Ability to gasp future trends in digital technologies and act proactively
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Multitasking and analytical skills
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada
