Donor Care Support Officer

Islamic Relief’s objective is to educate our donors by reporting to donors and answering any questions, building relationships and providing different options and opportunities on how they can contribute to help different vulnerable communities globally. The Donor Care Support Officer is responsible for providing superior customer service and admin support through the donor care team. This role reports to the Donor Care Manager.

The hours for this role are between 9:00am – 5:30pm, EST – Monday to Friday with built in flexibility

Status: 3 month contract

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Organizational Leadership

  • Assist and collaborate with the donor care team in generating and editing initial and annual progress reports for sponsored orphans
  • keeping up-to-date with the management of orphan sponsorship program by assigning new orphans to donors
  • Providing regular updates to donors related to their sponsored orphans
  • Coordinate with field offices to process and log any donor requests related to the
    orphan sponsorship program
  • Take initiative to make any process improvements within tasks that are under
    ownership for better management

Orphan Education Fund – Admin

  • Allocate funds to eligible orphans in the IRC orphan database
  • Assess current database of fund recipients and make recommendations for allocation for additional funding
  • Gather case studies from field offices and assembling content for the stewardship reports

Water Well Project – Admin

  • Manage the documentation and reporting related to individual water and sanitation
  • Compile records of donors who have provided funding for specified water and
    sanitation related projects
  • Coordinate with the field to gather project updates and provide them to donors as
  • Assess and allocate new funding from new donors to existing projects if available


Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Post Secondary Education; University degree preferred
  • Intermediate proficiency with excel
  • Proficiency with Gmail and select add ons (mail merge)
  • Excellent communication, organization and problem solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail required
  • 1-2 years of previous reporting and data management experience
  • Manages to balance accuracy and efficiency of work while multi-tasking
  • Works well in a team environment and independently
  • Basic mathematical skills required
  • Self-motivated, takes initiative and has ability to follow instructions
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge is an asset
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada
